Poll Worker Job Descriptions

Polls are open from 7am to 8pm on Election Day.

Inspector duties:

  • Attend a two-hour inspector training ($20 stipend) and a three hour electronic voting specialist training ($30 stipend).
  • Go to the polling place location before Election Day and set up a plan for how you will get into the facility on election morning.
  • Be in charge of the polling place on Election Day.
  • Pick up polling place supplies the Monday before Election Day and keep them secure and in their possession.
  • Set up the polling place in time to be ready to open the polls at 7am on Election Day.
  • Return all election materials on Election Night to an assigned location.
  • Must have reliable, private transportation.
  • This position pays $100 for the day - 6am until about 11pm.

Clerk duties:

  • Attend a two-hour training ($20 stipend).
  • Check in and assist voters.
  • Help set up before the polls open at 7am.
  • Help close and pack up after the polls close at 8pm.
  • This position pays $75 for the day - 6am until about 11pm.
  • This position may be split into two shifts.

Electronic Voting Specialists (EVS) duties:

  • Attend a two-hour inspector training, ($20 stipend) and a three hour electronic voting specialist training, ($30 stipend).
  • Set up the electronic voting equipment on election morning to be ready for the first voter at 7am.
  • Assist voters with using the voting equipment throughout the day.
  • Close out and pack up the voting equipment after the polls close.
  • This position pays $75 for the day - 6am until about 11pm.

You must work Election Day in order to receive the training stipend(s).
